February 2006

I'd been wanting to do an ASK P.O.D. since The Warriors EP, but every time I have seen the guys things are just crazy busy...As was the case this time, during P.O.D. media week I knew I wanted and needed to get in an interview but so did a bunch of other people thus the point of media week. The back stage there is pretty crazy several rooms in one long hallway, so everyone on the show was sorta just floating around all afternoon. Kelly Clarkson and Will I Am walked passed me so many times, the guys in Switchfoot and most of the P.O.D. crew were all hanging around in the hall ahaha. So a midst all the crazyness, I got 15 minutes to get in this quick version of Ask P.O.D. They had just stepped off the CD USA stage where they had rocked yet another amazing performance of "Goodbye For Now" and we met back in the dressing room to run through your questions. There wasn't a lot of time, as they had to get to an interview shortly after, so I am already preparing for another round of questions to be asked in the near future. Until then ENJOY! jj

Everyone loves Strength of Your Life the worship song with Matisyahu. Have you ever thought of recording a worship album as a side project? Seth Moor

"We've never really thought about it, it would be cool if someone wanted to do it, but in a way it might be gimmicky, it would be like taking advantage easy sale, like oh all the Christians will buy this...Plus we feel like our songs are the worship songs we would sing." _P.O.D.

Side note: I remember back in the day when P.O.D. would do worship at our church when passing through town or here for a show, and it was dope, and when I am at a live show, it's a straight worship session the entire time, how could it not be? _ jj

Are the songs "Hold You Again" and "Casa" demo names from FEOS and Satellite songs or are they unreleased songs and if they are are you guys ever going to release them? Thanks! God Bless! _ Zach Tychsen from Yuma, Arizona

They were shocked you guys even knew this....and took a second to recall..."Casa was an idea from a Legend of Doom song og SD Hip Hop. (The guys were humming and reminding each other of what the songs were like and Wuv sang a bit of the Legend of Doom song). 'Hold You Again' was recorded after FEOS, but never made it onto Satellite when it was time for those songs to be chosen. The demo is out there somewhere!" Sonny is going to try and find them and give them to me so I can of course give them to you ;) shhhhhhhhh!

Favorite place to relax? A state/country/resort? _ Nancy

Wuv and Sonny said: Kialani, Hawaii, which Wuv recently got back from. "Any place that is beautiful, New Zealand," which they are excited about going to for a festival show this spring. "Home is where I like to relax." Truby and Traa agreed and add "Wherever there is beach and sun...I really like Greece, it's a good place to go."

What do you think about the recent decline of Rock music in mainstream pop culture? _wildfire

"It's sleeping but it's not gone," said Traa. Sonny said, "Everything is just being rehashed, people are just taking stuff from back in the day and putting their spin on it...looping nothing new and original"

How did you pick Tim Pacheco and ODZ to play with you live shows and how did you know them? _ Claudia

"They're homies from around the way, with this record we new we wanted a thicker live sound to match the sound on the album so we knew we wanted to add keyboards and percussion to the live vibe. Just wanted the extra touch for the live shows," said Wuv. jj: Tim is married into the family, I think to a cousin of one of the wives. They knew ODZ since they were kids and they're from the same neighborhood.

P.O.D. is known for having some of the deepest and heaviest songs out there. How do you guys keep the lyrics from becoming just words and the music from becoming just sound after singing & playing them them over & over again? How do you guys keep it Alive? Love _Michelle Harris

"When you have a long crazy day, being on stage and performing is the alive part, we look forward to it, it's the refreshing part of the day, that's when I wake up, the excitement of jamming period" said Sonny, Wuv, Truby, and Traa. Plus they said it makes them feel good to just be doing what makes people feel good, knowing the warriors are using it as a refreshment, refreshes them, ...playing all the songs...doesnt get old...crowd hype, different people...

The staff/cane thing Wuv has been carrying around, what's with it? _ Donald, Baton Rouge, LA and a bunch of other Warriors

(Wuv said "So I can beat kids that ask stupid questions, ahaha kidding kidding"...I had told him that a ton of kids had been asking that question and I thought it was funny so I had to just ask it).

"We had a photo shoot one time and the girl who brought the clothes had the cane and she gave it to me for one of the photos. Then while on tour in TN I found a cane and liked it, so I rocked it....took it on tour cause we had no security guard....ahaha!" Wuv

I remember reading somewhere that on the upcoming pod headline tour that you're thinking about doing some of the older songs from the brown and snuff the punk days? Is this true? Thanks! _ CJ from NJ

"We do want to do some old songs, we will probably do a montage of the songs. We want to start doing 'Set Your Eyes To Zion' again. Maybe Breathe Babylon, Selah, Mama Song for sure." _ Sonny "Yeah everyone wants to hear the old stuff from pre_Atlantic, like Breathe Babylon, Draw the Line etc etc..." jj "Take a poll and ask the warriors what they want to hear," said Wuv. Everyone's in agreement so we are taking a poll and the guys will keep an eye on it. (To vote in the poll visit either PromotionsCrew.com or Myspace.com/PromotionsCrew.

Why was Generations chosen as a b_side, its one of the most amazing songs you guys have ever done. Will we hear it live? _ jj (I was at the Knitting Factory shows sound check and they began to play the song, I got all excited but they didn't finish it and they didn't play it that night :( so of course its my question!)

"It was actually one of the first songs written for this album, but sacrifices have to happen, when the album is said and done only so many songs make it on. Another song was also missed out that we really wanted on the album. As for playing it live, we will wait 'til everyone knows the song and then maybe we will play it." _P.O.D.

(I let them know we already all know the song and love it and demand it gets played ahaha...)

Do you have details on the European tour yet?

"Trying to make the right decisions, album has to take off first over there, so just need to take the steps to set it up." Wuv and Sonny. Wuv and Sonny are currently doing press and interviews for "Testify" in Europe right now, so things could are being discussed for the future.

Traa, your new signature bass. Will it be released on the market anytime soon, and if so do you recommend it over the Warwick Thumb bass? _ Dan, Florida

"I am working them on it, but first of all I need to school some kids don't play thumb bass anymore I play the dolphin bass ahahahaha....they really want to work with me in making this what I want it to be."

We talked with Traa about this for a while the day before I was sitting down with my laptop, I wasn't taking notes then so I won't quote him. They (Warrior Bass) sat down with him and honestly put together the bass with every feature and thing that he wants, so he really likes this Warrior bass and plans on working very closely with them in order to have it ready for production and available to the people.

Jason, what made u decide to use a 7_string on some of this record? _ David, Wisconsin

"It felt like the right thing. We wanted to explore different waters, wanted a heavy sound." P.O.D.

How was your visit to the Military Hospital? Any plans to perform in the "Big Sand Box"? _ Spooky, Kuwait aka the Big Sand Box

"It was hard...sobering, humbling, weren't prepared for it...weren't expecting, taken back...weren't really prepared for what we saw in there, and couldn't say much other then the support, thank them etc" The USO wants to work with them on future stuff and has invited them to Germany and they want to go. So they are definitely open to doing more with the USO.

::May 25th::

Alrighty warriors, I gathered your questions and took some time with my boys
and got your answers! At times various band members were in the room, so
not all questions are answered by all of them. And a few questions that are
to all of them will be revised at another time!
We have some good questions here so ENJOY! But I want to see some major
thought on the next set of questions and never before seen ones too. When
going through the emails there are plenty of the same ol questions or
repeats of past questions so dig deep and get me some new questions to
ask!!! Shine Brightly, jj

Which console/Pc games do you like to play? -FryslanWarrior
Sonny: Madden 2004 (which by the way is all I saw them play and it gets
intense! ahaha)

Street-ball Football
Traa: anything 'shoot-em up' "But only if your old enough" Traa says you
gotta obey the 'ratings'
Splinter Cell, The Thing, Monster.
Truby: Galaga!

Will you make an European Tour this year? Especially Poland, lol :D )
Edyta and Berenika, twins from Poland ;)

Sonny: Concentrating on the States right now, possibly doing some festivals
in Europe, but we do wanna go back to Poland, so hopefully soon.

What do you do on your days off of touring? Franky, Cleveland, OH
Sonny: I would like to do NOTHING!....But most of the time were driving to
the next show, or maybe catch a movie.

What is your tour bus like? Do you guys have a custom bus? Your own rooms?
KittyWarrior, Mississippi

Sonny: Just your basic 8 bunk bus, front and back lounge, with an
entertainment center. We have Play Stations and an X Box. We have a
microwave and tv.

What are your typical list of demands (Rider) for your dressing room?
Vanessa, Salt Lake City, UT

Sonny: Fruit Trays, Juices, Deli and Veggie Trays, on different days we ask
for different types of cereal. We just started asking for some necessities
like boxers, socks, wife beaters that way we don't have to worry about
washing clothes so often!

jj: That is definitely very smart, I want to add that to RedCloud's rider
ahaha so we don't have to go to Wal-Mart all the time, but I would throw in
some toothpaste and shampoo ;) ahaha

Do you play pranks on tour? With each other, the crew or the other bands?
TribalWarrior158, Portland,OR

Sonny: Not yet, ahaha towards the end of the tour usually the last date all
kinds of crazy things can go down.
jj: tell me some 'stories' from previous tours?
Sonny: this didn't happen to us, but one of the bands we were on tour with,
there crew put hot sauce on the microphones and then filled the water
bottles with vodka, for the soundcheck and when they touched the mics and
got the hot sauce on there lips they rushed for the water-vodka and it only
made it worse. Another time someone put 200 crickets on another groups tour
bus, we have seen bands duct tape there crew.
jj: any plans in the works for the end of this tour?
Sonny: *looks at Wuv with shifty eyes?....and they both laugh*
Sonny: nope!
jj: ahahaha

What's the average head count of the entire P.O.D. crew when you guys hit
the road (counting band members, family, techs, etc,) ?
Spreadin' Madd Luv, Michelle (aka Creole)
Sonny: 8 crew on the crew bus, and usually 6 on the P.O.D. bus.

Sonny, Did the Hoobastank guys ever say anything about you 'dissing' them in
YM? Chodo, East Los Angeles

Sonny: No, they're real cool guys. They (YM) only let me listen to like 20
seconds of each cd, so it wasn't enough time to form an opinion, but they
just wanted to write the 'dirt' you know.

jj's side note* In the November 2001 there was a segment called 15 minutes
with P.O.D., they asked Sonny to review 3 or 4 cd's. Sonny something along
the lines of...I liked them better when they called themselves Incubus.

During your set your refer to Southtown as old school, will we hear Snuff or
Brown songs on future tours? The OG Warriors are beggin! Pablo, St Louis,
MO

Sonny: No just Atlantic Old Skool, Out of respect for Truby since he didn't
write those songs with us, I doubt we would ever go old skooler then that.

Truby, What are your thoughts on touring after your first 'official' P.O.D.
tour? Johnny, Vancouver,CA

Truby: "What am I doing here?" "It just feels like this is what is ment to be, I
feel like I am Seabiscuit and I am finally on a track!"

Hey guys, I'm Claudia (aka Freedom) from Guatemala, your latin fans love you
and we want to see you around. Now my question is: Let's say you guys
found that "marvelous lamp" and you
have the right to ask 3 wishes, as a band, what would you ask? God bless ya
guys, thanx for the music and everything else included.
Truby: A whole lot more wishes!
Traa: I have been asked that before! I want better questions ;) ahahaha

What was your first reaction after watching The Passion of the Christ?
Thanks, Sarah ...sasasasatellite

*jj side note: P.O.D. was personally invited by Mel Gibson to a
pre-screening of the Passion

Traa: First, Star Struck wow Mel Gibson asked us here, for real first
reaction...but the movie, just cried, it was deep, most amazing movie, what
can be said.
Truby:"It is, as it was"
jj: ahahah ok Pope! for real?
Truby: Wow here with Mel Gibson, but once the movie started, definitely just
thought, This is the essence of all TRUTH!
Wuv: It was just the greatest movie I have ever seen, can't describe how I
felt, just real intense you know.

Are there any plans to do another Live Album? Edyta and Berenika, twins
from Poland ;)

Sonny: Haven't talked about it yet?

Cornerstone, are you guys excited? What can we expect from your show?
Phillip, Minneapolis,MN
Traa: Definitely excited about Cornerstone, they showed us love when nobody
else cared, they been down since the beginning!
Wuv: We're doing something really special, we have a very intricate stage
set up, something dope...

Have you ever had so many sound problems you stopped in the middle of a song
to fix things? Tony, Atlanta, GA

Traa: No just try to work through it.
Truby: RULE, You never stop the song!!

Are there any specific souvenirs you collect for yourselves, wives or kids
when on tour or from each city? FreedmFight, Bozemon, MT

Traa: Just laminates from each tour, and hotel keys, really no space to
collect much else
Truby: Yeah just hotel keys

jj: same here, we keep hotel keys when were on tour too, I think everyone
does!

Do you have a favorite Ice Cream? Chuck, Milwaukee,WI
Sonny: Anything, Chocolate or Vanilla
Wuv: Neopolitan
Truby: Vanilla!

If you could endorse and do a commercial for any food or beverage what would
it be? Joshua "the hotness" Sanchez, The Big Dub, CA

Traa: Popeye's Chicken, for real. I know its so typical but for real I would
love free chicken!
jj: ahahaha, hey you can endorse whatever you want
Truby: That's a good question...like really, I am gonna have to think on
that one...I want to take my time on that one. Ask me that one next time, I
will have something then!

After the amazing show in Columbus, Ohio for the Meteora Tour I got to sit down with P.O.D. and ask them some of your questions that have been sent in. Wuv could only stay for a couple questions he had an appointment, while the rest of
the guys just chilled. Much love, spooky

1. What did you think of The Matrix Reloaded? how about that ending?( haha)
-from Mya in fresno.

Sonny: It wasn't as good as the first.
Jason: I give it a C+

2. Hey i was just curious for the specifics on Wuvs black OCDP snare i was
curious if it was vented, how many
plies of wood it was and ya know that
stuff ....... its sounds so tight im thinking about getting a "Wuv
Signature"..hehe i wish thanks guys
-roger norman

Wuv: It's a 12x5 with no vents. Twenty ply.

3. hi Jason I was wondering before you joined the band did you had a favourite
p.o.d. album? Do you have a favourite living sacrifice album? Thanks,
Ewen (youngwarrior)

Wuv: Greatest Hits
Jason: I've never heard of them.
(guys are laughing)
Jason: Actually, I never picked up a P.O.D. album ever
spooky: Really? Even when you toured with them?
Sonny: It's Payable On Death (laughs)
Jason: For Living Sacrafice, No.
(Wuv leaves for appointment)

4. What's the one thing you guys have to have in your dressing room? You know
how some badns have to have like ex.. green m&m's or like licorice somethign u
know. thnx Manny =o ) FRESNO

Sonny: The entertainment center.
Traa: Definitely
Sonny: They just built this thing for us and we're like spoiled little kids. It holds everything like our games and t.v. everything.

5. What do you think about "emo" music?
- Sarah from RI/GA

Traa: What's emo?
spooky: Like emotional music, I believe.
Sonny: It's all good.
Jason: What's emo?
Traa: Emo-core you know.
Jason: Emo-core? Yea.

6. Wazzup, P.O.D.-got a question for Traa. What basses would you recommend
(preferably 5 strings) if you're low on cash?
-Jesse (aka the redbassman

Traa: That's a hard question. Since it's a 5 string it's hard to produce one
without some funds. If it was a 4 string it'd be easier, but because it's a 5
string, you would have to dune down to A. Go to the Music Man. Check out
Ernie Ball or Ibanez.

7. What is everyone's (individual) favorite kind of candy? I want to know,
because I'm trying to think of what to pass out for Halloween/Fall Festival
day....
-Chimes (montana)

Sonny: Mexican candy. The real stuff, only from Mexico.
Traa: Reeses cups. Basically anything with chocolate and peanut butter.
Sonny and Jason: Yeaaa
Jason: I'd have to say Sweet Tarts.
Sonny: Oh yea man

8. What's your favorite old school (no newer than PS1) video games and why?
-alluna campbell washington (aka sophie)

Sonny: Mike Tyson Punchout. There was nothin like coming home and trying to
punchout Mike Tyson. It was great.
Traa: Smuggler's Run
Jason: I don't really have one. I loved the old intelevision.
Sonny: Yea, that's old school. You ever see this game? We just got it and
it's great.
(shows me PS2 game entitled Street)
spooky: No, is it any good?
Sonny: Oh yeah.
spooky: Traa, I picked up Smuggler's Run 2 because of you man.
Traa: That game kicks butt doesn't it?
spooky: Oh, definitely.

9. hey I am a huge fan of your music!!!I think that your last album is
probably my favorite i have a question about the song Wildfire. What do you
mean when you say the rightous will burn again??? I was just curious about what
that meant. If u could e-mail me or wutever that would be cool THANKS!!!
-mellissa dollar

Sonny: That's getting deep. It's just living up to what the Spirit of God is
giving you. Living up to Him.

10. Hi P.O.D.! I realy want to thank you for given me hope and selfconfidents,
sinds you are in my life, everything goes better and I started more believe in
God. I was not rased in a Christian family and there are few people here, in my
place who belive in God, so my quistion is: How do you know for sure that there
is a God? Love:
-Michelle (14) The Netherlands.

Traa: I know because I know.
Jason: I know because of what I've seen and what I've experienced.

spooky: Ok, this next question is from a girl that is from Italy and her
english isn't the greatest, but she's a huge fanatic. Always posting how you
know, "I love P.O.D., P.O.D. is the greatest" and all that. But it's awesome
seeing all these worldwide Warriors posting how much they appreciate you guys.

11. hi! i'm jessica and i'm a great italian fan and i love you (P.O.D.) my love
for you is immense and I listen you from four years. My question is for Sonny
and Wuv : you are of Italian origins, but of that Italy city?
-jessika italian warrior

Sonny: It's outside of Naples. I can't remember exactly what it's called. I
think it's Chichano.
(He asks Mrs. Sandoval)
Mrs. Sandoval: Tichano
Sonny: Yea, Tichano. With their heavy accents, they pronounce it like that though.

spooky: The next few questions are just some that I came up with personally
that I wanted to ask you. This one's for you Sonny:

12. What knowledge, advice, and/or encouragement would you give someone who is
pursuing a similar musical career as you were twelve years ago?

Sonny: It depends. Are you talking about like as a job or just having fun?
spooky: Either
Sonny: Well, we just had fun. We didn't care what happened as long as we were
having fun.

13. Traa, what thoughts go through your mind as you see and hear about all
these people's lives that have been changed through your music and talent that
God has gifted you with?

Traa: I'm grateful for the opportunity to help change people's lives. I'm
honored to be here because I don't deserve it. I just keep going out and
enjoying it.

14. Jason, What future goals do you hope to accomplish as P.O.D.'s new
guitarist, Lord willing?

Jason: I just take it one day at a time. Whatever happens, happens. I just
want to be where God wants me to be. I've always said, "Health, wealth, and
wisdom". Just one day at a time.

spooky: I feel ya on that one.

15. Ok, this one's for all of you. How would you describe this new album as a
step forward in your journey as the group P.O.D.?

Traa: It feels good to be in a group of all men.
(everyone laughs)
Traa: No really, it's great to be in a group of four men now.
Sonny: Yea, we're all in the same direction. We're all on the same page.
Jason: I'm excited.

P.O.D. was doing a photo shoot in Hollywood today (12-14-2003) before the KROQ Acoustic Christmas show. The shoot was for an upcoming Metal Edge mag that will interview both P.O.D. and Linkin Park. Before Linkin Park arrived, the guys took different photos and in between takes and bites of taquitos, I asked them a few of your Ask P.O.D. questions. Shine brightly, jj

1. P.O.D. I am a big fan, you guys led me back to the Lord almost a year ago and I just want say thanks! My question is how do you stay right on point with God? - George Jauss

Traa: Each of us take care of things on an individual process. Prayer is important. We each have our own personal time and devotional time. We definitely pray as a group before shows and all that.
Truby: Prayer, big time prayer. I learned that long ago, pray all day throughout the day, just a constant prayer time.

2. I was wondering where I could get a copy of your song "Christmas in Cali" from the KROQ Almost Accoustic Christmas cd 2002, and it was an exclusive release.
Do u have any other Christmas songs that you have recorded? - Daren Durell from Iowa

Sonny: No other Christmas songs, and none in the plans, unless we would be asked to do something specific.

3. Will the song called "Father Bless Us" from the movie "Any Given Sunday" ever be released? - Darren Durell

Sonny: We would love to release any of our ‘rare’ songs but in most cases the people they belong to will not give them up, so we can not use them or release them.

4. I am going to your concert Jan 16, it is so awesome that yall are doing it with Linkin Park and Hoobastank.. I wanted to know if there were any other bands that you would like to go on tour with in the future? - Kristin, Maryland

Traa: Police Reunion!!!!
Truby: Metallica
Sonny: AC DC
Traa: Blindside, I would pass up any tour with anyone to do the Police Reunion
Sonny: Yeah, Police Reunion
Wuv: Yeah, Police that would be bad dude!

5. P.O.D. What was your first tattoo, or your favorite/s? - Vicky

Traa: First tattoo was a dragon.
Sonny: I cannot pick a favorite, I like them all. My first was Christ on my shoulder.
Truby: My favorite is the "Forgiven" I have across my back
(Wuv was getting his grub on with some taquitos during this question)

6. Hi P.O.D.,I ìm Dennis (14) from Germany. I love your Music so much!!! My Questions is: How long do you work on a song, and how do you start??
Thanx a lot!! - Dennis Garblett

Sonny: We get to the studio and just start jamming.
Traa: Its just a group process.
Sonny: We get in there and get something to eat, and just start messing around and see what comes out in the studio.

jj: Do you have any themes going in or specific ideas?
Sonny: No we normally just work on things in the studio as we jam.

7. I really need Jasons tuning like I use D its tuned down a full step. I need it like this DDGCFAD, and also what notes does he use in the album?

Truby: Wow, thats really technical, um lets see I tune down a whole step, occasionally E is dropped to a C and the rest of its just a mystery, ahaha

8. What brand of strings and gauge? thanks again Johnny ( brawly california)

Truby: SIT’s 11's with a wound G.

9. What really attracted my attention and what I really like is that you always play your bass with your fingers. Other bassist that play heavy music use a pick. What exactly do you like about playing bass with your fingers? Is there really a difference in sound?

Traa: YES definitely a difference in sound!
jj: Is there a reason that you use your fingers?
Traa: It's how I grew up playing, it's how I learned, it comes from my jazz background. It allows me to manipulate the strings that I want, and get the sound and have creative control.
Sonny: Real bass players use their fingers!
Truby: Yeah! ahaha
Traa: Yeah they do it definitely sounds much better.

10. Where do you guys like to perform better, big cities or small cities? Jeanette, Mexico

Sonny: There really is no preference
Traa: Yeah, every show is great, every type of show big or small!
Truby: I love playing so it doesn’t even matter.
Sonny: We love playing, so as long as the kids are going off we love it, the kids just gotta go off!!

11. Hey Traa, I just started playing Bass and I was wondering if you had any tips for me? Jim- Loveland, CO

Traa: Listen to EVERYTHING! Definitely be open minded to anything you listen to. And just enjoy what your doing, have fun. Oh and listen to Charles Mingus (www.mingusmingusmingus.com/ )
Sonny: Yes, one word: Mingus.

12. Wuv I noticed you have been wearing a rosary lately and just wondered what was the deal with that? Andrew, TX

Wuv: One of my best friends Queenie got it for me, he is my boy so I rep it.

13. I would like to know if you ever have embarrassing moments on stage when performing live? Marie-Miame, FL

P.O.D.: we really don’t have anything like that, cause its just like, whatever....
Truby: Yeah like if something happens, I don’t care so it's not embarrasing.

jj: Ok how about a crazy or funny stage story? There has to be something.
Sonny: Well yeah I mean I have fallen or maybe tripped, but I don’t care I just go on, so its not like it's embarrassing.
Traa: So just a stage story, one time I ran into Sonny and hit him in the head my with my bass...
Sonny: Yeah and I was seeing stars and I totally lost track of the words of the song.

jj: what song were you singing?
Traa: ahaha it was Lie Down
Sonny: Yeah it was ahaha

jj: That’s classic Lie Down...ahaha

14. Traa, how many basses do you own? Trez

Traa: um hmm....10

15. What is your favorite song to play live? Caleb

Sonny: Anything from the new album.
Traa: Can’t pick any faves, just everything.
Truby: Yeah, Definitely the new album.

16. When you guys play Ozzfest and your on tour for a couple months, do you hang out with the other bands? And is there any band that is your favorite? Ryan, VA

Traa: Oh yeah, with whoever.
Sonny: Well you just hang out and meet everyone, and certain people you get good vibes from and you wanna hang out with them again, and others you don’t. But we definitely do hang around with the other bands and just chill.

17. Hey Jason, I was wondering what kind of guitar and amp you played for ‘Sleeping Awake’? - Mike, So Cal

Truby: Um, I don’t remember
Traa: Um, for the video shoot or the studio, has to be studio

jj: Yeah just the studio
Truby: Ok then Gibson and Mesa Boogie.

18. Do you play music for yourself like worship songs and whatever? Paul, Austria

Traa: Well its hard to just play worship songs by myself on the bass.
Jason: Oh yeah, I play worship songs all the time, I love them.
Wuv: Dude, I love worship music.

19. Have you ever regretted becoming a rockstar? - Eve from Germany

Truby: Nope, no regrets in life about anything.
Sonny: Yeah never any regrets.
Traa: No regrets.

Sonny even sat down at his laptop and answered a few of the questions himself. The rest of the interview was conducted orally as Wuv and Jason were tracking some new songs and Traa was busy playing Playstation 2*. Feel free to email askpod@warriorklan.com and every few months your question may be posed to P.O.D. and they will personally answer it.

1. I was wondering if any of you guys liked the movie "The Princess Bride"?
I've always wondered about that…maybe now I'll know. Thank you :)
* Travis aka FaN MaN Temecula, CA*

Sonny: Love it. I can drop quotes from that movie. Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
Jason: (In background)Prepare to die!

2. I usually don't watch TRL, in fact I only watched it because you all were going to appear. Did it upset ya'll
to only appear for 5 mins? Maybe I'm wrong but you all seemed like you weren't too happy to be there.
*Vicky, florida*

Sonny: The whole TRL episode was for The Matrix: Reloaded movie so it wasn’t focused on us. I think that was the first time we were really nervous going into TRL. Usually, we are pretty calm going there, but that time we just got butterflies.

3. Hey guys, first of all, i want to thank you for your good music...and i hope that the Lord will bless you
more so that you can be a witness to this world. My only question is, when do you come to germany again?
I bought a ticket for the last concert and you canceled. i just want to let you know that the warrior klan in
germany is very big, but we don't get that much concerts....so please come to germany soon!
God bless you all..
*Tobi german warrior*

Hi i´m a guy from the German Warriors Board. I think you´re doing a great thing to preach the word
of the Most High. Jesus Rulez man!! But when will we see you on German stages? thanx
greetz Jason – german warrior

Sonny: Hey guys, we don’t plan on touring the rest of the year. Just promotion stuff, but we might be in Europe around August or September.

4. Hello fellow Warriors! My question for P.O.D. is...How did you guys manage
to sign-up to Atlantic Records? God Bless
*Rik* webmaster of www.dutchwarrior.tk

Sonny: John Rubeli loved our music. He's an A&R from Atlantic Records.

5. Well ive ben sitting here trying to figure out a question that i really wanted to ask but the more i think
about it the more im just very thankful that God put your music in my life many years back....Its really helped
and got me through some rough times so im very thankful for you guys....Well im supposed to ask a question
so here it is, in the future(maybe on the next CD) do u have any plans of recording a song with another band
or singer???...I was thinking Linkin park, that would be sweet...But anyways take care fellas, thanks again
and dont listen to the critics(they dont know).
*Ryan set it off in virginia*

Wuv: Marilyn Manson (laughter) Maybe have him say the sinner’s prayer.
Sonny: (laughter) That’d be dope. Definitely some guest tracks, maybe Roots.

6. for Sonny, 'have you ever got Singing lessons of any kind'
for Traa ''what kind of bass strings dose he use''
and for Jason 'what guitar tuning does he play with' and ''does he use a Mesa Boogie'
and that’s it I just wanna know what Jason’s tunings are because of the tabbing I did,
I wanna make sure its correct haha
I love ya Jah bless
*Johnny podjohnny brawley ca*

Sonny: Johnny, we just finished vocal lessons here at the studio before we came to answer your questions.
Traa: SIT strings.
Jason: On Sleeping Awake I played it in scale down D. On the new record, mainly scale down D, C, and open
sustain. Yeah, I use a Mesa, there’s actually a lot of heads in the studio that we try out for the best sound.

7. HI P.O.D. my name is Ewen a.k.a youngwarrior on the uk messageboard.
I am from Essex in England, UK. I would like to know how ‘3 Points Records’ is doing?
*Ewen(youngwarrior)england warrior*

Sonny: Its doin good. We are just waiting for blindside to finish their next album. They are
in Sweden writing for it now and as soon as we are done here, they are up next in the studio.

8. What are the three CD's in your CD player right now?
* Jacob,MouseWarrior,MarleySelahWarrior,Wilmington DE*

Sonny: Roots, new Deftones, and the P.O.D rough tracks
Wuv: Deftones, Dennis Brown, Sidecar…a band of homies from the Southtown
Traa: Deftones, Coldplay, and Pharcyde

9. I was wondering if there's an address that warriors can send gifts to (books, taped sermons,
fan art, etc)? I would hate to send gifts somewhere and you guys never receive them.
* Danae, Atlanta Georgia*

Sonny: We were just discussing that today.
Jay: There is one in the works as you read this. As soon as it is official, we will post the information
and all items will be given to P.O.D after Mike Kellerman checks them for anthrax and bombs.

10. Greetings! My name is Michele. First off, I'm a new fan who discovered you when Satellite was first
released. You have impacted my life in such a huge way and I am so proud to be a fan of this band.
I'm an "older" fan at 37 who grew up on on all the legends of rock(ZEP, Stones, etc.) including 80's metal
and early alternative. The majority of your fans are fairly young my question to you is, Do you encounter
older fans such as myself who seem to be craving a fresher sound? I really love this band
and am extremely proud of the messages you put forth. God Bless!
*michelle in so cal*

Sonny: Lots, there’s really a mix of fans. There’s old metalheads out in full force when we play Ozzfest
all the time and we get parents that brought their kids coming up to us after shows thanking us

11. What are the two best "presents" that each person in the group has recieved?
*Matt Cragwick Chimes southtown forum and warrior forum Butte, MT, USA*

Wuv: Oh dude, I got this rosary from this kid in the Phillipines, it was really nice, handcarved and
everything. It was really special to the kid and for him to give it to me, that was cool, ya know?
Oh, and Sonny got this hand puppet from these people in the Midwest. It was trippy. It looked just like him.
Traa: I don’t get a lot of stuff, but you know, some fan gave me that trinity necklace that I wore in the promo shots.

12. How did you get your nicknames? And what to they mean?
*justin halat from canada*

Wuv: Our grandmother is from Italy. Everyone calls her Noni. Well her English wasn’t all that great
and she’d say ‘wuv’ instead of ‘love’. As a kid though, it was ‘Wuvy’, but as I got older I had to
kinda drop that cause it sounded childish.

13. What was the scariest or weirdest thing that happened during your tours?
*Denise De Valle, Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico*

Wuv
: Bad flights. Where was that one?
Mike K**: Italy.
Wuv: Oh yeah, Italy. We were on this small private jet and it went straight down. It was pretty nuts. Is there anything else?
Traa: (playing Playstation 2) I was thinking of something, but now I forgot.
Wuv: Oh! One time on this private jet, Marcos and his guitar tech were wrestling, just messing around,
you know? Well they wrestled right into the emergency exit door, like right on it. Everyone started freaking
out, dude, that was scary. Everyone was just like, 'What were you guys thinking?'
WK**: What about food?
Wuv: Ah yeah, I mean, you gotta get used to it. Now we know where to go, but before
we used to go out in Europe and get sick. Sonny got real sick in London last time.

14. I was wondering where we could hear or find the rare pod songs wicked run and bless me father and eleanor rigby?
*Carlos from el paso tx*

Wuv: Eleanor Rigby is a tight song! Man, it was one of those tracks. We were actually recording for the
Any Given Sunday track. While we were in the studio, we did 3 songs, we just busted them out cause
we had some studio time to spare. But the dude that produced the tracks didn’t use those and I dunno
about the copyright stuff on them, but yeah man, I’m sure there’s bootlegs somewhere.

Jay: Any last words to the WarriorKlan?

Sonny: Thanks so much guys. Keep the questions coming and we will try our best to get time to
answer them. We got some sick ideas for the WarriorKlan so keep your eyes open. God bless.

* Traa was playing Smuggler's Run 2 just in case you were wondering.
** Mike K. is the tattoo artist for P.O.D., WK is a member of the WarriorKlan
