Wow, where do I begin? My buddy Juan & I got to the Whisky at about 4:30p.m. to check out the sound check. We walked inside & caught them doing Southtown, and Tribal. After their soundcheck, Sonny comes up to us & asks us if we want to hang with him til the show. (he recognized us from the San Diego show 2 weeks before.) After thinking about it for a milli-second, I said "sure". Without going into great detail, the guys were incredibly cool to us!
After waiting for about 15-20 minutes P.O.D. came out minus Sonny.
Marcos, Traa, & Wuv jammed on their awesome intro. Then right when the first
drum beats were heard of Breathe Babylon, Sonny came out to pump up the L.A.
Warriors. The set list included these P.O.D. greats:
1.) Intro.
2.) Breathe Babylon
3.) Lie Down
4.) Hollywood
5.) Southtown
6.) Draw the Line
7.) Selah
8.) Set Your Eyes to Zion
9.) Punks Rock
10.) Rock the Party
11.) Outkast
12.) Bullet the Blue Sky
13.) ENCORE: Full Color
All these songs came out full force. Sonny was driving the crowd mad, & the crowd was driving Sonny mad! Everybody played phat! The most memorable song of the night would have to be Outkast. It was so intense that at the end of it Sonny fell on the crowd and we carried him while he let the kids sing from his mic. Then we threw him back on stage to finish the song with such a charge that I thought I was gonna seriously hurt whoever was next to me. I could tell the band was impressed by the L.A. crowd. We were going crazy singing & screaming every lyric! Pumping our fists in the air! Raising our hands in worship to our Lord! The Warriors were battling last night. We laughed at the strongman & praised almighty Jah! The night was beautiful. If you missed this show, you missed out! But I'll forgive you if you go see P.O.D. next time time they come near your town. Jah bless you all!
